HOUSING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT

James D. Noteware is the new head of the city's Housing and Community Development Department.  Before working for the city, Jim was the CEO of Noteware Development, which focuses on the creation of exciting mid-priced, mixed-use residential condominium communities in strategic areas of rapidly growing metropolitan areas of the United States.


Prior to Noteware Development, he served as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Maxxam Property Company, where his business team received the Houston Business Journal's 1994 Legacy Award for "Development of the Year" for the Sam Houston Race Park, a $100 million project which went from ground-breaking to opening in only ten months.

Mr. Noteware received a Bachelor of Science from Stanford University in Civil Engineering and Architecture and an MBA in Finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.  He currently serves as a member of the advisory board for the Wharton Club of Houston.
